I found some lovely lace fabric with red polka dots at the recent Vintage Fair in Worcester- see worcestervintage.blogspot.com for details. It was a great fair and so many treasures waiting to be had. I came across the fabric in a suitcase from Second Hand Rose and had to have it. I have made  a few of the corsages adding a sweet red heart button in the centre and have orders to make more.

Ever growing collection...

I've been adding to my ever growing collection of lace corsages. They were an experiment at first but I have had so many positive comments that I have made a few for friends and have requests to make more.  I love them and I am really happy others like them too......I feel an online shop coming soon :-)

I've been busy making more and more corsages. I had a go using fabrics, making different sizes. Its something I am going to continue and experiment with. I have bought some lovely anchor buttons and plan to make some nautical themed corsages over the next few days, weeks. Keep an eye out for new additions.

Lace Corsage

After making the other corsages I was inspired to have a go from scratch and I have decided to have a go using fabric and lace. My first attempts were using lace and pearls, adding a simple brooch pin at the back. They are so pretty and I already have requests to make more...I know what I will be doing in the evenings this week!

I really wanted to buy a few corasges in different colours to add to coats, cardis, bags and jackets for the Spring. After looking around the shops I decided they were all pretty pricey and so I decided to have a go myself. I bought a few silk/artificial flowers between £1.00 and £2.00 each and cut the wire stem using pliers. I then took a brooch pin and glued it to the back of the flower and covered with felt to cover the pin and also to ensure the brooch was fixed into place. I love the final outcome and cant wait to add to my blue and white stripey blazer for the spring. My Mum loved them so i made one for her too.
